By the Book

I'm a book nerd. I love to read. I always have. I've pinned a couple of things about books and reading on Pinterest. I have piles of books beside my bed just waiting to be cracked open. I keep a wish list of books on my Barnes&Noble.com account. I usually don't walk out of Costco with at least one book. I. Love. Books.

So, yesterday, this quote popped into my head. I think I came up with it. I don't think I'm stealing it. It is:

Any room with books in it is a room with a view.

I thought it was similar to a quote that is attributed to Cicero. So I looked up quotes by Cicero. The one I was thinking of is: "A room without books is like a body without a soul." Mine is close, his is a little more profound.

That got me thinking about a picture I took years and years ago of an engraving on the side of the Denver Public Library. So I looked that up. That quote, made by Jorge Luis Borges is: "I had always imagined paradise as a kind of library."

Cicero and Borges: men after my own heart. Book lovers. Readers. I'm really liking that I came up with the quote above.

Reading takes you places. Just ask Dr. Suess. He said, "The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the places you'll go."

Gonna go grab my book and read for a couple of hours . . .
